If You Can Learn to be an Engineer You Can Learn to Invent!

By Adam Muir

Invent something to make money.  Create something that enough people want and never work another day in your life!  It may seem like inventors who come up with a great idea got lucky and everything changed overnight, but in reality it took persistence, drive and out of the box thinking.  Imagine if you took all the time and effort you put into getting your Engineering Degree into coming up with new ideas! Before you know it your list would be overflowing.

Thinking of inventions and ideas is a skill just like any other and needs practice.  Also consider that many of the widely known great inventions of our time were designs that were improved upon.  Set some time aside each day to sit and think and write down your ideas. As with anything, the more you practice the better your ideas will become. Don’t give up too early!  Many times we give up on something too soon- even when we are on the brink of success.

Prototyping, designing, developing, testing, manufacturing… These are the things that you already know how to do!  Spend more time practicing coming up with the ideas.
