Tooling/Fixture Designer
Description
- Design tools/fixtures.
- Get tools quoted and built at partner shops and implemented into client manufacturing facility
- Provide design oversight/guidance to less experienced designers. Mentor these individuals to advance their design capabilities.
- Review tool concepts and provide suggestions for improvements.
- Review final designs and drawings prior to submittal to client to assure robust designs and conformance to client standards and preferences.
Requirements
- Must be proficient CAD user (preferred software = ProE)
- Minimum 5 years experience designing tools and fixtures for heavy equipment industry (weld/assembly/test fixtures)
- Good communication/interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Must have stable work history
Preferences
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
- Experience designing Below the Hook lifting devices is a plus (slings, hooks, overhead carrier systems for a factory/manufacturing environment).
- Local candidates strongly preferred (Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin), but not a requirement.
